I'm going to Tokyo!!

It's official now - just received confirmation. I'm being sent to Tokyo next week!

I thought it would be a cool/surprising thing to announce here, but the Daily Oklahoman already told everyone before I could. (link to story)

Another thing that's official now - NanoWeather Inc. is now a real company. I received the certificate from the OK Secretary of State a few days ago. I guess the Oklahoman stole my thunder on that one too.

I'm very excited about going to Tokyo but very worried about the food. I still don't know of any Asian food that I like.

Avoid 'natto', a sticky mess of fermented soybeans (an acquired taste)
Try anything 'kushiage' (deep fried things on sticks) 'yakitori' (grilled
things on sticks). 'Oden' is a hearty Japanese stew made with seaonal/local
ingredients. There's also 'Soba', 'Somen', and 'Udon', Japanese noodles, usually in a
soup. 'Chawan Mushi' is another great dish, a sort of hearty egg custard.
There's far more to Japanese cuisiine than sushi and sashimi. Enjoy.

Congrats on the trip and the company! Science-based companies continue to be the "place to be", and I know YOU have the smarts. Now...go back to being Mr. Busy. :)
